Tour Page 9 - Compound Phrase Patterns

One of the more challenging aspects of language recognition is the identification of compound elements. We like "to use and benefit from" the use of "compound words and compound phrases" as in this sentence. Indeed, it may well be that a number of the language understanding patterns utilise compound phrases in a way not immediately obvious.

The recognition of compound nouns, verbs and so on is a critical element to recognise language and therefore to accurately translate language. Let's look first at a verb with two elements.

I ate the tasty food and drank the terrible wine.

Let's look now at a verb (ok, a predicate phrase) with three elements.

I slowly walked the path, saw my target and then verbally attacked the hearless enemy.
