Tour Page 8 - Detailed Noun Descriptions

There are many appliciations in which the actual descriptions are more important than the noun itself. The example below is displayed by the program enabling drill down into the individual descriptive phrases.

In real language, a lot of noise can be involved in phrase recognition. The example below is a quite plausible illustration of the combinations of stress words and noise in a language.

The um very ugly er very tall terribly beaten woman...

The program displays the type of adjective phrases in use. "um very ugly" is shown as an opinion. "er very tall" is shown as a length. And the embedded verb participle phrase "terribly beaten" is identified as past tense. This type of information, although lengthy to read through, provides future applications and student tools with the ability to understand the communication accurately.
